The finfish genetics innovation center

Dedicated to Dr. Michael Horne

This research facility is singularly focused on advancing genome editing technologies for commercial aquaculture applications.

Featuring a sophisticated genome editing and germ cell transfer laboratory, the new facility is tailored for large scale research, complemented by a wet lab designed for efficient data collection.

The center also includes advanced Recirculation  Aquaculture Systems (RAS), custom-designed to improve research efficiency and ensure animal welfare.

Genotyping Hub:

  • Equipped with three advanced sequencers.
  • Robotic automation for high-throughput handling
  • Capacity to process over 800,000 samples annually.
  • Comprehensive sequencing, genotyping and DNA extraction service.
